I couldn't even begin to guess.

My school from K-10th grade was at the end of a road that flooded with no other outlet.

We'd get out early or close when we got 3-4 inches of rain which is fairly often here.

zero, and if you missed your bus you were on your own, better get stepping if you want to get home

because we werent treated like retarded morons incapable of making it through life without help

not they close school if its going to be a severe thunderstorm or if its forecast to be really windy because there is a 1% chance it could spawn a tornado

How do you not remember your school being closed for some reason? It happened once in 13 years. Not to remember? I’d worry about dementia if I couldn’t.

If it only happened once to me I would have a much easier time remembering exactly how many.

Hurricane Betsy.... in NE LA.

We rode the bus to school, stayed for an hour or two, then they sent us home in the middle of a raging tropical storm.

Never really understood why they did that.

Don't remember any other closings except for snow and ice a few times.

When ines in 7th grade our teachers went on strike in Terrebonne Parish. We could have stayed home but my parents didnt have a lot of money it was cheaper for the school to feed us than them, so we went to school. Learned how to play pedro.
