put a sign on all public doors telling people if place is smoking or non-smoking

If you still make the conscious decision to enter, then that is on you.

As has been said ad nauseum, let the market decide this simple policy.

That is very unfair to the non-smoker who is not producing cancerous, noxious smelling smoke everywhere they go. By one smoker being in the room it is tainted vs. one non-smoker. If smoking did not affect anyone around them, fine. But this argument breaks down immediately because the smoker eliminates places the non-smoker can go because of their choice. Not so for the non-smoker.

They will still go out, alcohol sales actually went up in NO after the ban, they will just have to go outside by the trash cans and smoke, irony.

You've never heard of a contract clause?

To stay on topic, the clause between establishment and patron is to let them know the policy before entering.

This may be the case in places like Louisiana, but it isn’t really true up here.

I think that is most fair for to the non smoker. You have knowledge which gives you power. You are not forced to go to that establishment.

Like I said earlier, start your own place. I'm sure that like minded individuals will make the place quite successful.

The dangers of secondhand smoke are unproven and even if they exist are minor compared to the dangers of breathing in bus fumes, etc.

According to the cdc. Roughly 10k more people die every year from second hand smoke than total gun deaths in America

No one is forced to work in a smoking environment.

Second hand smoke disproportionately affects the poor and minority communities.

If the non-smokers stop frequenting establishments that allow smoking, it forces the business to alter shite to accommodate non-smokers.

In reality, non-smokers still frequent smoking establishments. This means that, knowing the risks, non-smokers vote with their wallet that they are ok with being around tobacco smoke.

FTR, I am a non-smoker

And if private insurance companies want to not cover smokers, then that's fine by me too

I just can't believe that people will hang out in a smoky bar all night and then bitch about it the next day

Why even put yourself in that situation? Just sounds stupid when you think about it.

Working in a bar? Because walking out with at least $300 cash a night after 4-5 hrs of work while in college is fricking amazing

until the product is deemed illegal, I will continue to disagree

Now I will note that the situation should be different when 18 and under are around, because it is illegal for that age group.
