Frick Enterprise

For a little backstory, my car was stolen a little over a month ago. I had been renting a car from Enterprise since then and the insurance had just stop covering it a week ago, so I had to renew the contract while I continue to look for a new car (frick this car market).
I go there today to renew and had a balance of $35 to clear out the old contract and start a new one. My debit card declined, so I thought, “okay let me transfer some money over” (I’m a broke dental student). The lady at the counter then tells me she cannot swipe the card again for 24 hours and she would have to take the keys and I’d have to wait until tomorrow to get a new rental. No apologies, nothing. Just left me out for dust with no solution. No cash payment, no manual input of a credit card.
Dear Facebook. Don’t go there. They suck.

It's Enterprise's fault that you don't know how much money you have?

It’s enterprise’s fault for having shitty policy. Eat my sack.

They've got a lot of nerve expecting to get paid for their services!

Yeah, a lot of nerve to turn away a paying customer for over a month whose card declined right before I would have transferred money over to pay. Get fricked.

It's not 1980. With banking apps there is no reason to not know there isn't money in your account. You don't have an alert set up for low balance? And if you are that short on cash, what were you going to use to pay the actual rental? Because a week isn't $35.
This was a bad one to bring to the OT.

I thought the insurance company paid for it. You ain't paid jack shite fella. And they don't care because that car will be rented out in about 5 minutes because rental cars are as scarce as cars for purchase.

Complain up the chain of command... erac hates negative customer appreciation scores

That is pretty stupid. Cards get declined for all sorts of reasons, some of which in no way reflect on the cardholder.
Would they have swiped a different card? (And why would you ever give Enterprise a *debit* card?)
