Minutes yes. Last year we had to go an extra 10 minutes a day, all half days became whole days, and we lost one day of our Xmas break

Frick it. Tired of waiting. I’m declaring McNeese as closed tomorrow. Time to start drinking.

The Thursday closure will require LSU to make changes to its academic calendar, in order to make up some classes. Changes have not been finalized at this time, and will be announced by LSU within the next week.

This should go over well...

I believe someone said it will not be required since a state of emergency was declared

Legislature passed this last year. BESE will have to approve the waiver.

You won’t have to make it/them up since state of emergency was declared. Congratulations

That’s never happened before when we burned through our built in days due to hurricanes

I wonder if they might. Every parish around ours has closed so far. Haven't seen Vermilion or Iberia yet though. They already said they would excuse all absences for tomorrow.

Bulletin 741 stipulates the number of instructional minutes students must have each year to earn credits. Most schools have extra time built in for cases like this. If they are not going to meet their instructional time, according to bulletin 741, they will typically add minutes on to each day.
