I just actually read the link. This is interesting:

Fred himself was, by this notice and now being revealed, excommunicated from his own church last year.

Internet tough guy whining about free public speech.

I don't care what people down the street from a family funeral do as long as they are outside on public property.

It's seems the people on social media who allow Phelps to get under their skin are the pussies when most families admit never really noticing the guy(until news/social media reports).

We have similar issues with those Christian fundamentalist nut bags outside of abortion clinics everyday harassing stressed out families/care providers.

You ignore Christian fundamentalist nut bags as long as they are breaking no laws.

This guy is the antithesis of what Christianity is about. I won't make a judgement about him but I would never be associated with a group that believes and does the things Westboro Baptist does.

I live with fundamentalist nutbags so it is impossible for me to ignore them. They are family and good human beings and I love them. But they live in an insular, delusional arrogant bizarro world of belief. I have just learned to live and let live. Everyone is entitled to their beliefs as long as they aren't doing harm to others. Like I posted, I think this group has done America a favor in exposing the ignorant thinking of fundamentalist Christians. I don't condone the emotional pain they have caused bereaved families though.

Wait, I just read the article. Why was Fred excommunicated from his own church?

I'm trying to remember where I first saw the link to the story, but a commenter there said it was probably a legal thing to keep hospice from being able to get church funds.

Was reading how in 2006 they protested a Marine's funeral. The Marine's dad sued WBC and won in total $10.9 million.

pretty much sums up my feelings.

I think his after life is not going to go quite the way that he thinks it will.

I hope it is. I also hope that someone sodomized his corpse and then throws it in a ditch where it belongs. The man is pure human garbage, and the world will be better off without him.

That's the best explanation for such irrational behavior and beliefs. I'd bet that dude has had homosexual contact in his life.

They're all lawyers looking to make a quick buck on any lawsuit they can find.

They protest so much against anything and everything they can find hoping somebody will pop at them and they can make a shitload of money in the lawsuit. Everything WBC does is all about the money. A legit Christian church is repulsed by WBC and would never ever go that extreme and do anything to hurt their cause like WBC has.

frick Fred phelps. Good riddance.
