Plant baw knows

My brother is the outage superintendent over a few plants in LA and TX. They have their own meteorology centers they get info from. You would be surprised what info they have.

I doubt a shift manager not in actual plant-level management knows, though.

Me. The wrinkles on my ballsack exactly match Betsy’s wind field when it was over New Orleans. I was tapped by god to predict weather just like Nash Roberts.

Until it starts moving and getting better organized every thing is just a best guess or estimation on strength and direction.

One thing that I like to do is to look at hurricane paths of the past.

NOAA has a site where you can put coordinates of a location and see all the storms that passed within 60 nautical miles of a spot since the mid 1850's.

I know dynamics are different for every storm, but sometimes you can look to the past to see what the setup was at the time to see how it interacted and moved as an analog. When Joe Bastardi was on Accuweather, I can recall him referencing older storms and looking at those paths as clues to where a storm may go or even estimate damages because you have something to reference or compare to.

I made a map of the current location of the system.

Levi’s been quiet. I’m assuming he’ll post something in the next 24 hours. He’s the only one I trust.

The plants typically contract with a private company. Yeah, they have access to good forecasts.
