The guy on NBC BR just said 114 mph gusts in Iberville... with a straight face. WTF?

Not all heros wear capes.

True, some wear a ratchet strap tied around their waist so they don't get blown away. The other end was tied to the bumper of a 1989 F150.*

*Allegedly

I tell ya what, the "open" area of the eye on radar is NOT the eye in the prototypical sense. Still plenty of wind and gusts here in Houma. And we are square in the "clear" area, south the the "northern eyewall" band. This shite is just as windy as that red/yellow band on radar. Just not raining as much.

I noticed that. Pretty weird

There has been some weirdness going on with that area. I don't know if it is a pressure-induced wind, or something like inflow into the eyewall or what. I think that area is what produced the 83mph gust near Dulac earlier.

They’ve been riding that GRAF model all day and it’s been a big disappointment. It showed the eye going over or under New Orleans and the storm going almost straight due east. It hasn’t even been close to that all day.

Looks to me like Metaire/nola is going to get eastern eye wall. Bruce gonna prove right?

Bruce kept saying it was going south of Nola meaning Metry would get north eyewall.

We had a crepe uproot during Rita. Son and I stood it back up, roped and staked it and still call it Rita till this day. Sumbitch about 20' tall now. Good times.

To be fair he said that when it was a few hours offshore.

So once through the northern eywall it's a rapidly improving situation?
