Tracks are not updated every time. Just every six hours. Next track update is at 10 PM.

Brownsville radar can see the core. Convection has waned a little this afternoon, which typical, but it looks like a very healthy tropical storm getting ready to become a hurricane currently.

The preference is for this to be slower. Quicker org, better core later, fights off the shear longer and is stronger doing it.

WAFB school closure list
BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Some school districts have announced they will cancel classes for students on Wednesday, September 11 due to Tropical Storm Francine making landfall in Baton Rouge and surrounding areas.

The following schools have announced closures:

ASCENSION SCHOOLS
Ascension Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, September 10, and Wednesday, September 11, and Thursday, September 12.

ST. MARY PARISH
St. Mary Parish Public Schools and offices will be closed on Tuesday, September 10, and Wednesday, September 11.

ASSUMPTION PARISH
Assumption Parish Public Schools and offices will be closed on Tuesday, September, 10, and Wednesday, September 11.

IBERVILLE PARISH
Iberville Parish Public Schools and offices will be closed on Wednesday, September 11, and Thursday, September 12. Schools and offices will dismiss at half day on Tuesday, September 10. For the early dismissal schedule, click here.

EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH
The East Baton Rouge Parish School System said they’re closely monitoring Tropical Storm Francine and will keep the community updated.

For what it’s worth the 18z Euro was west of Intracoastal City. It’s movement speed was faster more in line with the NHC thinking of a Wednesday midday landfall.
