The solution to a rape problem there is to redefine what rape is.

We did the same here by redefining some murders as abortions.

Move the bar. Problem solved!

it’s 1 year earlier than in a lot of the US and all of Canada. Pretty sure sex with a minor is still criminalized, but it’s a lesser charge.

So France seems to be making rape of someone under 15 statutory. That’s a good thing.

I’m wondering if those two referenced cases involved Muslims...

15 is a little young in my opinion, but I also have no idea what French people are used to.

I like the posters saying zomg 15 year olds can now bang 45 year olds. Bruh, it was legal before this law went into affect

Meh. I actually like the “constrained, threat, violence, or surprise” for two consenting adults. Easier to dismiss the “muh regrets” cases

So France is waving the white flag on decency. Figures.

You do realize that prior to this law it was legal to have sex with a minor so long as

"constraint, threat, violence or surprise."
did not occur? And that this law makes it flat out illegal to have sex with someone under the age of 15 regardless?

In the balance of human history this is around where people get married and start having kids.

It's much more the norm than the very recent trend of postponing adulthood.

This! I believe it's shifted due to our slow moving "bleeding heart" liberal mentality we find ourselves being strangled by presently. It touches the entire fabric of our lives. From the idea in children sports that everyone should get a trophy, to hearing these women cry (years after the fact) that they chose to swap sex for a chance at fame(Weinstein) and crying rape!!! We do humanity a disservice when trying to make life "fair". Life isn't fair and it won't change! Regardless of how loud "bleeding hearts" attempt to delude the masses.
Got off track. Not that it matters, but I'm good with 15!

This isn't surprising. Legal drinking age is 16 over there. Kids smoke regularly. Backwards country.

The legal drinking age for beer and wine in most of the world is 16... it’s the US that thinks criminalizing what most of the world has done for centuries and still does is a good idea.

It's terrifying those people want to do that here. If I see them I usually report them to store security. Just doing my part to prevent another standing rock

Sex is viewed very differently in Euro land than here.

They think we are all very strange for caring more about tits on TV than violence.

So you think 15 is an appropriate age of consent?

Dave Chappelle said it best, how old is 15, really?

Were you old enough at 15 to know whether or not you wanted someone to piss on you?
