It lets you start the broadcast from the beginning or start it live. You can pause it, rewind, or fast forward whenever you want. It's kinda crazy that ESPN has been streaming so long, but have such a mediocre app. It's been a long time since I've used the website, so I can't remember how that's set up.

Espn bots must have detected a politically conservative user and thus throttled bandwidth. Conversely, Fox detected same and increased your bandwidth. Welcome to today's America!

Better streaming apps do not help push SJW agenda, why would ESPN spend money on it?

Talking about streaming sports and the 2nd post brings up the liberal agenda. Good job OT

YouTube TV is the best IMO. Has the YouTube app functionality with live/DVR ESPN

ESPN are the ones who started injecting politics into sports.
It's impossible to discuss ESPN without politics being brought up.

I agree, Fox Sports both on desktop and as mobile app has been flawless for me. ESPN is almost always lagging and buffering on a perfectly fine internet connection, regardless of what sport I'm streaming. The fox stream feels very responsive as you're rewinding or going back live

Same here. During baseball season, it freezes during every single commercial break. Becomes extremely aggravating during a 3 hour game.

It's strange what has happened to ESPN. They climbed to #1 because they focused on sports all the time. They kept it simple. Something like a streaming app should be straight forward - make it flexible, that's the point of streaming.

Still not sure why things have gotten janky over there.

Not if you have directtv. It is impossible to login and no customer support.

You just need to pay for ESPN plus and then it will work great. I promise.

They're just straight up trash these days. And if you go back in history, they're the channel that started screwing up cable way back when. They started the trend of charging cable companies more AND insisting on selling commercials on what was supposed to be a commercial-free service.

Unfortunately, sports fans can be so devout, they're willing to deal with a ton of bullshite to watch their game. I guess it eventually just became the norm.

Lag, mediocre quality when I know I have a strong connection, and no DVR feature. I'm using an older Roku, so I've expected issues because of that. But since I've been watching the world cup on the Fox sports app, it's been great the whole time.

I think the network itself is horrible. With their main people being Skip Bayless, Colin Cowherd, and Danny Kannel, I would never turn it on without watching a game. But their IT department is on point.

It’s not strange, they were the only game in town for decades when it came to live sports and highlights, that’s why they were #1.

That pretty much sums it up. As long as they can afford the expensive packages, they'll keep people hostage. Just a shame their service is garbage.

Agreed about the Fox Sports app. I’ve watched all the games during the week on my phone without an issue.
