I heard this analogy about the house being on fire and thought about the alcoholic that needs a liver transplant. Alcoholics lives matter too? Stop setting your house on fire.

Another bullshite stat perpetuated by white conservatives. If you consider the per capita basis, blacks are killed at a higher rate. If you further look at the rate of unarmed civilians being killed, unarmed blacks are killed at an even higher rate.

2015 Fatal Police Shootings

Scroll down to the chart provided by the "white conservatives" over at the Washington Post, one of the most reputable and respected newspapers in the world.

It also explains what the unarmed statistics refer to. There's more than one way to kill someone; for example, vehicles, and attempting to or using the officer's weapon against him.

Wrong

I haven't seen any BLM "leaders" on TV or in print expressing their outrage and disgust at the violence being perpetrated using the name of their organization. I've yet to see anyone from BLM asking their constituents/participants to behave in a peaceful manner or expressing their condolences to the families of slain police officers or calling for an end to the violence.

That's what's called "condoning violence."

If this is true:

then BLM is interested in crimes involving black people shooting other black people, right? If they're going to call themselves "Black Lives Matter", they should actually care about all senseless black deaths, right?

If this cartoon were representing the truth, there would be a third much bigger house that is damn near a pile of rubble representing black on black crime.

The cartoon should show a tax-paying citizen paying his taxes to support the local fire department, and that fire department putting out the burning house. It could be a privately owned house owned by a middle-class black man or a shack where some toothless white guy is cooking meth.

Regardless of race or class, the fire department will fight the fire. That's called "all lives matter." If it represented BLM, it would show a white firefighter trying to fight the fire, and a BLM protester shooting him out of spite and because of the color of his skin, allowing his house to burn down and then expecting the government to pay for it.

This cartoon's analogy reminds me a lot of the Hurricane Katrina aftermath. National Guard and Army helicopter pilots risking their lives trying to rescue people off of their rooftops and being shot at by the same people they're trying to rescue. I know that this happened, for a fact. My cousin is a Major in the LA National Guard and a Blackhawk pilot; he took more air to ground small arms fire after Katrina than he did in the first Gulf War.
