I had a friend that lived in Bloomington, Indiana and he loved it until he finally passed away.

Fort Wayne is north of Bloomington, about 2+ hours away and is pretty close to Chicago.

I think it all depends on how much cold weather you can accept in your life, especially if being from the south and living with mild winters.

Personally, I love Indiana's scenery and hilly country since I ride a motorcycle and some of my fondest memories involve meeting up with friends in that part of the world and riding the many rural roads through Amish country and stepping back in time with their lifestyle.

you didn’t answer the question: are they concerting your move and associated moving expenses? If the answer is no, I wouldn’t even consider it and they are telling you they don’t care if you stay or go

Median income 44k

Median price home 138k

Demographics 75% White, 15% Black, 5% Asian, 5% other

Avg temp in July is 84, in Jan is 32. It gets avg rain and snowfall as compared to the rest of the USA.

Appears Allen Co is the place to reside, crime is pretty bad in other parts but seems avoidable like most other cities it’s size.

Those look like average highs, not overall averages.

It’s like a smaller, worse Dayton, Ohio.

Having been born and raised in Dayton, I find that hard to believe.
