If there is a lodge nearby try returning it to them.

Whatever you do, don't wear it. If you are found to be impersonating a Mason, there are severe consequences.

I've bought and sold a couple over the years. I've also had some pins and such. I collect vintage Masonic ephemera. I have several interesting pieces. One of them is a 1950s book from the Alabama Masons and it covers all the juicy, super top secret stuff from just being interested, first joining, to climbing the ranks. It has all the directions and steps for different rituals.
Another interesting piece I have is a Masonic membership roll from Anchorage Alaska front the early 1960s. Think of it as a phonebook or yearbook, but with more information.
That said, what you have is just a ring. If it has initials or other identifying features an owner, or family, could possibly be tracked down. They likely won't be able to find the owner, though. Those rings are out there and aren't difficult to find for sale on the market.

Put it on and say this:

Perhaps so. Maybe he is weirdo who like to toss jewelry and money where my wife will find it

Since dominate 308 is antimment about returning it to a lodge, you should keep it.

Why the interest if you’re not a brother?

Found masonic ring. What to do with it?
I believe wearing one of those to a bar is a way to tell other homosexuals you are DTF

What happens if you put it on?

Rub it in circles and ask it where the Ark of the Covenant is.

I've had family spend years as Masons. I've been offered a couple times. But it was not at all a good time for me then.
ETA: And honestly, most of the stuff I get is in old boxes that no one seems to care about. I hate to see some that stuff just wind up in a landfill. I have other paper goods interests, too.

As a honorary member of The Knights of the Shining Sea, do the right thing and donate to a nearby lodge.
