Just curious, what age do you consider off limits?

Depends on what Perspective I’m looking at it from.

From an historical, cultural and scientific perspective, 16 seems to be about right. If you look at coming of age ceremonies for girls, the “sweet 16” seems most prevalent in western societies, and so i’ll defer to that.

Sure, you have the quincinera in Latin societies, and girls are usually physically sexually mature at that age, but that’s just too young for me to condone. It’s that age they are still learning and experimenting, whether or not adults want them to.

So i’d say, based on all that and cultural norms in Europe and the Americas, that 16 is a good age of consent. Although every person is different when it comes to maturity.

Now, from the perspective of a father of a sweet Little girl, I think 28 is an acceptable age.

ETA: I am not going after teenagers, nor do I necessarily support it. I’m just saying that if if a coupling is consensual, maybe don’t ruin the person’s life over it or charge them with something as criminal as Rape.

ETA2: teenage girls are some of the most vile, spiteful and cruel creatures on earth.
They know the power their newfound sexuality possesses over men to get them what they want and it does not surprise me in the least that some use it to lure men older than them with money and resources to get what they want, they’ve been doing it since the dawn of time

People forget that as little as 50 yrs ago, girls getting married at 16 was pretty common and the further you go back the more common it is.

Any red blooded male is lying if he says he’s never been minding his own business and then noticed a young woman with developed tits and arse and felt a stirring in his loins, and they ain’t all 18.

There’s a difference in accepting the reality and pursuing something once you know their age.

I think it should be illegal for a teacher to have sex with someone they are currently teaching, even if that person is the age of consent.

That would mean Sally Kellerman was breaking the law by sleeping with Rodney Dangerfield in Back to School.

If 17 is the age of consent, she raises a good question. It's certainly a firebable offense, but is it really a criminal offense?

But the is about 20 and 30 something female teachers chasing teenage males. My sense is that there are just a bunch of excited hormone crazy adult female teachers out there. Probably get the ideas from internet porn.

There are two issues here: (1) should it be against the law for an adult to have sexual relations with a 17 year old; and (2) should a teacher be fired for having sex on school property?

For the first issue, I have been concerned that these laws are unconstitutional. If a 17 year old can consent to have sex with someone older, then the fact that the older person is a teacher should have no bearing on whether this is a criminal matter. There was a day when 18 was the age of consent, but those days are long past, and states now permit 17 year olds to consent to sexual relations with someone older. That the older person is a teacher should not affect whether this is a criminal matter.

On the other hand, for the second question, it is certainly reasonable for the school district to fire a teacher who has had sex with a student on school property.

Bottom line: the charges should be dropped and the teacher should be fired.

What are you talking about, Fr33...a girl isn't any different at 15 years 11 months as they are at 16 years 1 month...

^^^^^ this is literally your argument against something I wasn't even talking about...

So if a 47 y/o gay porn star starts fricking your 16 year old son one day...where are you at on turning your head?
Or are you deferring parental responsibility?

Don’t skew my words. I’m saying you can only raise them so long. Eventually they are going to make their own choices. They drive at 16 and 16 is the age of consent in more than a few states.

What I want and expect for mine doesn’t mean I don’t accept the reality of what young adults are doing.

The rape part is that the child legally doesn't have authority to consent

Yes they do. They are legally at the age of consent.

It has already been drawn. At the age of consent.

yeah, and don't try to tell me she was a victim, she was a shrewd business woman, too lazy to look it up but something about she knew it was illegal, went mainstream when she became age of majority and purchased the rights to all her porn, to get them off the market(before child porn laws,)or something like that

You live in a society that refers to adults in their twenties as "college kids".

Eh, they are young adults and learning to make decisions on their own, with consequences. I know that older women taught me a LOT and there was nothing nefarious about it despite the age gap. I’ve got buddies(in their 40s and 50s) that have wives and gfs almost 20 years younger than they are and i say more power to them.

I refuse to accept it was rape, or any harm was done to a 17 year old boy getting his first taste of cougar pie
