I'm ok with negligent but it's really reckless homicide at the least technically speaking.

Murder is a little much, but jeez. At the end of the day, whether it was a mistake or not, she went to that man's apartment and shot him.

If it happened as she said then it sounds like a tragic mistake.

She comes home from a 12 hour shift and she goes to put her key into what she thinks is her apartment and instead the key pushes the door open. At that point she has to think someone has maybe broken into her apartment and might still be there so she draws her weapon and enters. encounters a man who she thinks is in her apartment and shoots him. Its sad and tragic but it ain't murder.

On the flip side, you’ve got your hand on your nuts watching Shark tank marathon, you here someone trying to get into your apartment so you yell out to get them to stop trying to break in, and then boom they shoot you dead in your own place

I can tell by looking at her that she is a liar. This was a murder.

I don't think we have all the information. They took her electronic door lock to determine if she went to her apartment first but they haven't made that info public.

Here's a timeline: LINK

Good, now let's see the video from the hallway.

I believe the door was already ajar according to her statement.

IIRC when this happened, there was speculation that she had previously made multiple noise complaints regarding loud music coming from the victim's apartment and used this as a coverup when she confronted and ultimately killed the victim.

The neighbors reportedly heard her banging on the door shouting "let me in"

I edited. The statements from neighbors contradict what she's previously said.

That's my understanding as well.

She's 100% in the wrong ...

Bad situation all around but I can see how she initially mistook her apartment. These apartments are identical from floor to floor, same location on each floor, one directly above the other one. How many times have you got off the elevator on the wrong floor? Factor that in after a a 12hr shift and I can picture it happening.

Sucks for all parties involved.

The dude also had a unique doormat iirc. She did it on purpose and her story/crime was premeditated IMO.

She’s more likely to shoot you than frick you. No need to white knight.

She was banging on the door shouting “let me in”

You people are so fricked up. Do you honestly believe what you wrote and that, on the .00001 chance she did it on purpose, that her story is what she came up with ahead of time? If, for some odd reason, a cop wanted to murder someone there are 900 better ways to do it.

Witnesses reportedly heard this before the shooting. Could have been someone else easily, could have been a lot of things. If the door was open, why would she bang on the door? Witnesses especially in racially affected cases or other situations of bias are routinely poor.

Being she is a cop, I have a hard time believing she did this on purpose. Pretty damn weak idea .

But being she is a cop, there’s no excuse for shooting the guy and she should definitely do jail time.

I’m guessing murder is to get her to plead down.

Exactly. I agree. But people are crazy idiots. She may have been one.

You people? My father is Law Enforcement, I am prior military. From everything that I have seen, she is guilty as frick. She knew the guy, has been in his apartment, he had a rug that no other door had, and she pleads that she is over worked. Yeahhh okayyyy

Was a cop. And a shitty one at that.

We will soon see if they have evidence or if it’s to get her to plea.

Yet the neighbor right across the hall heard no one banging on the door or yelling "let me in". The whole lawyer for the family thing is/was weird. This lawyer feed the media info about these "neighbor witnesses". I am not sure if that is ethical to do during an investigation.

Also the cops didn't "leak" the info about the weed in the apartment. It was in the police report that is public domain (not sure if those are the right words). The media gained access to the report and reported it in the articles.

Yep, the thought that she's never been in that apartment is pretty funny.
