Was that model anywhere close to being as fast as the new ones?

I paid 3K over asking but the dealer threw in a lot of extras.

Lifetime supply of Salt Life stickers
2 Ed Hardy shirts
1 free tattoo (Limited to one armband tattoo only)
Yearly subscription to Axe Body Spray of the Month Club
Chrome plated truck nuts

From what I've seen it's much quicker. But its lighter and more powerful
I really liked the 6.2 though.

Bought a 2014 for my son. Paid $10k under blue book. Carfax was completely clean. I love the truck. May get myself one soon.

plant operators work a ton of hours in order to spend half their annual salary on a jacked up truck they will rarely (if ever) need.

Many dealers won’t even let you test drive. Buyers only want 0 mile purchases. There are a few dealers selling under sticker, you just have to shop around. The 6.2’s are where the legendary resale comes from, not the new ones. 2013-2014’s with low miles are still selling in the low to mid 40’s. Each sticker priced $53-55K.

The ecoboost doesn’t hold it’s value as much?

I have owned all types of german and japanese sport sedans and sports cars. The raptor is as close as I have ever felt to those in handling in a truck. Great steering and the ride is plush and firm at the same time.

Yeah yeah yeah coolio...but can it beat a blue lambo driven by a hot chick??

If I was buying Ford and was going to spend that kind of Raptor money, I'd go with a decked out Ford F-250
instead

Still good, but not on the same level. If you are in the market, you really owe it to yourself to research the Ecoboost and it’s multitude of issues. That’s part of what keeps the 6.2 so high in value. There are Gen 2 owners voluntarily trading down to a Gen 1 because they either can’t get past the sound of the 6, hate the 10 speed transmission, or live in the service department. Ecoboost are a more attractive truck, more features, lighter and more powerful, but that does you no good if you can never drive it.

I actually found a exact copy of my 2010 34k miles for 40k. If I could get 4k off that I would buy it.

I was indeed in the market two years ago, not the Raptor market bc I’m too poor, but just for a regular pickup. The horror stories about the ecoboost turned me off and I bought a V8 Tundra. But I didn’t know if Raptors had the same issue or if those issues had been fixed. Some folk said it was only the first ecoboosts that had issues. Considering Ford is punching the turbo engine and the F150 is what keeps Ford in business, it’s surprising if the ecoboost is still having problems.

I think a new raptor light weight body would do fine with a supercharged 5.0

Knock on wood, no problems 20k on my 18. I think there are many reasons keeping the 6.2 value high and reliability of the gen 2 is probably only a tiny part. There are some people that think a v8 belongs in a truck like that no matter what. There are also people that 40k is their top mark for a truck no matter what that reason may be. I have other vehicles to drive should my truck break. I don't plan on keeping it much past 100k and if i feel the need I'll buy an extended warranty sooner or later.

I had a 2013. Great truck but I don't pull anything anymore. I occasionally haul small stuff. The 150 and 250 cabs are now the same size so no plus there. I haven't driven a 2017+ 250 but my old one rode much worse than the raptor. Less maintenance with a gasser also.

The new raptor will have the long awaited 7x engine. Basically it's 445cuin Windsor. Not a soch, it's a push rod engine.685hp naturally aspirated engine in the raptor.

Also 2020 mustang boss may have the 7x, but it will be destroked to a 429.

I'll believe it when i see it. Nothing official from Ford. It's going to weigh more and I don't believe that HP number NA. But whatever. All I have seen is that same BS speedtwitch article over and over again.
