that's just the color scheme for the Limited trucks, even the current ones have that.

i have the brunello seats in my Platinum and dont think I will ever get another color. love it. hope they dont change it up too much for this generation

The front end is fugly. The headlights they borrowed from GMC isn’t mixing well with the Ford styling language - although I did see a sport model they looks good.

The interior on the higher end models look nice. The lower end models look like crap, but that’s probably to keep costs down for fleet buyers. Fleet is important for trucks so I understand why.

Ram still has a better interior. GMC has a better exterior. Ford has a solid design, but I would not buy one over the competitors because of reliability concerns.

I would rather the tail gate spell out “FORD” instead of F-150. But I like that it’s stamped in there.

Very very very few people will keep a vehicle for 20 years. Chevy engines will last just as long as the toyota engines. If they were both driven 259,000 miles, you would save enough on gas to replace that cracked dash and do a lot of other maintenance.

I mean seriously, how many people will drive a plain Jane 20 year old vehicle?

The Tacoma has a good following. It’s a solid truck with good resale.

But except for Nissan, the competing models are actually very compelling even if the Toyota fanboys don’t want to acknowledge that.

- The Chevrolet has some seriously good off road and diesel models on the high end and a strong fleet business on the low end - but their mid range models where the truck shows it’s age. They are updating the styling this year and redesigning completely in 2023 to get more active safety features in the mix. I think the popularity of the ZR2 models have surprised even Chevrolet, but the truck is definitely starting to feel old.

- Jeep’s new Gladiator looks like a hell of a nice toy, and will prove to be the most modifiable and customizable. It’s competing with the popular Colorado ZR2 and Tacoma TRD Pro as a lifestyle vehicle. It’s not going to attract the Fleet buyers and the mid range buyers that the other trucks from Toyota, Chevy, and Ford will. But it will likely have class leading resale value.

- Ford’s new Ranger was sort of a let down in some ways, but it has a damn strong gasoline engine and very attractive styling - and I think it’s the most competitive from the mid range market where a lot of retail mid sized buyers actually are (especially in the Midwest). It’s base form is little too costly to compete with the Colorado’s low end fleet market. It also lacks a true ZR2 or TRD Pro competitor for now, as I suspect that Ford wants to push those buyers into an F-150 and the new Bronco. They aren’t rushing to bring the Ranger Raptor to the US for that reason.

The Tacoma’s appeal to me is the expected durability, well above average resale value, good active safety features, and available manual transmission. But that’s where it ends. I can make due with an automatic - and the competitors trucks (except the new Jeep) have proven to be solid and feature acceptable resale. I don’t think the Toyota powertrains are anything special at the moment either - but that could change if they offer a diesel.

I like it.

The only thing I don't like on the interior is the shift lever. Looks like it should be in a Dodge Charger.

That looks like it will break.

They could have achieved the same goal with more simplicity with a column shifter or electronic rotary knob like Ram.
