When they list at $76k, discount to $65k, and sell it for $60k, they are probably still making a 50% profit.

my family has owned dealerships and lots since before I was born, so thats just what you do…on a car and many other things.

Is wasting your time time haggling over prices supposed to be some type of virtue or something?

I don't trust the collective bargaining of fellow consumers. Just like cell phones now they charge whatever and if consumer can stomach monthly price they will

But make no mistake they are not losing money are will never beat the dealer. They do this shite everyday you are not going stick it to them and they aren't going to lose money.
they can and will lose money on a vehicle. That doesnt mean that they will lose money in the long run because a couple of losses to make sales could make them way more money by hitting sales incentives. If someone puts in the work they can absolutely save alot of money. If you dont work for it you wont get it. why wouldnt someone "brag" about a deal where they save 5000$ more than the average person?

It isnt a virtue, but it is not unreasonable or outlandish in certain situations. Why not save money when you can? What’s the harm in asking?
Asking “is this the best you can do on this?” or “if I pay cash is the price the same?” That’s what…a few seconds? It would surprise people how often that can make a difference.

I’d rather not communicate with anyone whose goal is to make me pay more money in made up fees.
Give me the complete price online or via text/phone, or even in person. Tell me the price. If I don’t want to pay it I won’t. If you try and add made up shite after, I’ll walk. What I don’t want is to have to haggle with some random person like I’m in a bazaar.

But the prices of new vehicles are insane. I’d say better than 90% of people don’t have $50k laying around to pay cash for a car. So what else are you supposed to do?
Not buy them, the vast majority of people are making extremely poor decisions spending a large portion of their income paying for 100k dollar Suburbans and King Ranch trucks.

Good. Tell me the price and I'll decide whether I want to buy it or not.
