Also, still like those peanut butter candies in the black/orange wrapper. Don't understand the hate. Give me a while pile of them and I'll give you back a pile of wrappers.

The orange and black are both peanut butter. One of my favorite Halloween candies. Walmart sells them on the Halloween candy aisle.

if i ever wanted to feel sad or simply decide to recreate my daily school activities for my entire elementary, my mom has tiffany-blue boxes from The Palace in monroe that document every single crayon, pencil, pen or marker line i made in school each year labelled by grade.

if i ever reach that point i think i would just have to toss it and not open them because i just dont think i need to start going through the pirate boats and secrety hideouts on an island i drew almost daily.

I remember walking around in a hot mask wearing a polyester costume that did not breathe in the humid south Louisiana weather. I’d be soaked in sweat by the time I got home trick or treating.

I recall those mask hot as shite and breathing was a bitch with your tongue getting slashed up.

Yeah, the hard plastic mask with a rubber band. My mom bought my costume from the local Ben Franklin and TG&Y.

I bet that sofa smells like cigarettes and the yellow on those walls is from nicotine

And if there's a fan/light combo in that room, I bet there's an extension cord wrapped in a gold chain from the fan to a receptacle in the wall!

I thought those were pretty good stores as a kid, sort of the forerunner of walmarks without the walmarks crowd

my core memory is buying cap guns (and rolls and rolls of caps) and mexican jumping beans in a little clear plastic container.

You can get action figures of a lot of these vintage costumes. Pretty cool, especially if it's one you had.
