Respectfully, I think that was at least part of the point. They don't have a ton of data available on long term reliability. Saying rather anecdotally that people are having problems doesn't really prove anything-it just puts a negative opinion out into the universe. That may very well be justified, but this, and pretty much every other thread addressing the Telluride or any other car for that matter really just ends up being a bunch of folks who have a) never owned one or b) will never look at these brands objectively because of the price point trash that they put out 25 years ago when it was actually somewhat of a feat for a car to make it to 150K miles. This is mostly why I asked in the OP for people who actually have these vehicles to chime in with their opinions.

Don't you really need to prove it on long term reliability? Even know there still really isn't a ton of data on the newer generation Hyundai's, which I think are fairly reliable - to compete with the likes of Toyota.

Until they prove it they are kind of anchored to the older analysis of the kind of engines the company built IMO.

Once I start seeing Hyundai models I am interested in regularly get to 200k without a ton of major issues, I'm all in.

More masculine than a Hyundai huh? Wow, that’s really saying something.

My Sonata is at 118k and counting. I’ll keep you posted.

So family member ownership (Kia/Hyundai) does not count?

It definitely counts, but I tend to trust credible sources and collective, objective data more than someone on a message board who may or may not be telling the truth.

2019 EX with 24K on it. Not a problem and sharp looking vehicle. Like the electronics as well.

I’ve had it about 18 months. I love everything about it and would say it’s the nicest SUV I’ve owned. I only have three local dealerships so there isn’t much choice. We used to buy more upscale vehicles but the dealerships are 4-5 drive away. It became too much of a hassle so I decided to get the Telluride and I like it quite a bit.

Ya they are looking great - I just got an old used 4runner, I think will last for another 4 or 5 years. IF Hyunda has several engines hitting those levels, santa fe, tuscon, etc. I'll definitely be looking at some used models of that or the palisades as an option. I imagine you will be able to get some good used compared to similar toyotas

Exactly

How can the Kia be more masculine than the Hyundai?? They are basically the same vehicle. Hyundai owns about a third of Kia. They do some things independently but a lot of their designs and components are the same.

I work at a dealer that sells Hyundai. We can't keep the Palisades in stock, which is their first cousin

I’ve heard about people selling or trading their used tellurides for nearly what they paid for them.

Last year we almost waited for the hype to die down but it never did and still hasn’t. I’m seeing more of them on the road but rarely ever see more than one at a dealership.

We have about 3k miles on a 2021 Telluride. I LOVE that car. Very easy to drive especially in the highway. When you’re in cruise control, it’s almost self driving. It stays between the lines by itself. All the USB connections are great. I’m no small guy and I have plenty of room wherever I sit. The inside looks great, the seats are comfy, and the damned headrest is amazing. I very well sell my truck to get another telluride. There’s a quiet mode that cuts the speakers off in the rear for when the younguns are sleeping I can still hear the radio. I don’t have any complaints.

I did some research and discovered that replacing the windshield will run you like $1,300. Bought the windshield package from the dealership for an extra $15/month to take care of that concern.

There’s also a monitoring system in the back that alerts you if kids or pets are left in the back seat when the car turns off. There really are so many great small features
