Not saying worship or fanboy over, but damn, solid catalogue of good music over time, great guy, he was even on Miami Vice.

Damn man! One of the best songs to ever be on a TV show. That song made Miami Vice cool. His songs helped me get a little lovin from my girlfriend. During a school dance my freshman year in ‘84, we snuck out to my van and spent a couple hours in 14 year old heaven.

He had a very weak voice, with little range, that had to be multi-tracked and flanged

Maybe so. I don’t know. I do know I went to a concert of his in Chicago in 1990 that my buddy’s company had a box for. It was a fantastic show. I came away with a new respect for him.

Within like a year he went from the navel gazing progrock of Genesis to the top forty friendly songs of his solo career.

Collins Genesis wasn't really progrock.

They had evolved by then.

Hey brother, fond ‘84 freshman memories as well. “In the Air Tonight” & Miami Vice caught magic in a bottle.

My personal favorite was his theme music to “Against All Odds” with Jeff Bridges, Jimmy Woods and the mystical Unicorn herself Rachel Ward. My lord she was the most beautiful woman in the world at one time and Bridges & Woods were great in that movie.

I think 2016 was bad...whenever David Bowie died.
