Milk may be expensive (I'll take your word for it) but airline fares are dropping like a stone.

And I must be dense as all hell but I'm still not seeing why some in this thread are taking issue that people are "cheering" low oil and gas prices.

If you believe that the oil prices are the cause of our upcoming global recession, I may disagree but at least you have a defensible reason to wag your finger in disapproval but if the falling prices are a symptom of a recession that's happening anyway, why should I be apologizing for being happy that at least I won't be getting kicked in the balls twice?

I mean, I should be happy to have the opportunity to be in a higher tax bracket because that means I'm earning more. But I'm not so the silver lining is that at least my taxes are decreased to match my meager earnings.

No, it's the other way around. You're misunderstanding me. There are clear signs of a global recession, examples of which have been posted in this thread. Low gas prices are just one small part of a much larger machine.

Well then you should be pulling for the opposite to happen. Why not hope for $2.00-$2.25 gas if it means the economy is stabilizing/growing instead of hoping for $1.00 gas that likely means we are in the middle of a deep recession in this country and/or the world?

I feel for the O&G guys today. And for you guys cheering on cheap gas, you're going to get your wish and then some. The stock market is getting raped today as well. Hello recession, soon.

So glad we made that deal with Iran so they can dump their oil on the saturated market this week.

It's getting real bad in both energy and the global market. This seriously isn't a doom and gloom post, this shite is happening.

Regardless of how many sad stories are posted on here, I will never feel guilty for paying a reasonable price for gas.

This. Not my fault you chose to work in oil and gas, and you should know that it is cyclical. Choose an "inelastic" profession.

As the global recession sets in and you actually start feeling the squeeze, you'll change your tune. And if those guys aren't out there working in O&G to provide you with that fuel, who else will?
