Eh, winning elections doesn't mean that much when 90% of institutions with influence adopt one position.

Corporations, academia, government bureaucracy, media, entertainment, etc. - Looking at it as a 50-48% situation doesn't tell the story.

90 percent of school unions absolutely adopt one position... shoot it might be more like 99 percent!

That doesn't mean 90 or 99 percent of members share that same position.

Of course that's an issue to me. But even in right to work states... for example teachers have different reasons to join the union. My wife disagrees with the AFT or whatever the group is, position on political stuff. But... she values the legal benefits it provides. So she's willing to pay the little amount of dues they charge each year for the legal protections. (if a parent sues her or someone accuses her of something regarding her job, she gets legal protection completely paid for).

And the bullying is what I'm talking about when I mean it becomes irrelevant. In a healthy society, when you're 30 the names you were called at 15 shouldn't matter to the overwhelming majority of people. If it's still eating you up, we've got a failed culture.

People may not wake up thinking about their bully(s) every day but your experiences in childhood and adolescence shape you. It may instill a drive to succeed in some. The same experience in others may shake their confidence in a way they never get over .

Get a bullhorn and tell the students they have 5 minutes to be in their class, sitting quietly. Anyone who fails to do so is expelled.

Problem solved.

maybe it was just an anomaly but i went to two very different school systems in junior high and high school and i just didn't see that much serious bullying. all the commercials and whatnot have always been strange to me because bullying was so far down the list of problems at my schools.

I saw a lot of bullying in middle school, and sadly participated in some of it. 5th grade through around 7th grade was the worst for it. Didn't see much in high school, but it did still happen. By then, it was mostly the mean girl stuff high school girls are notorious for.

Why is there any club in high school?

What would you say to the school sponsoring something like a BDSM club? Or foot fetish club?

And the system by law still has to educate them so now we have to move all those kids to the alternative school which doesn't have the teachers or spots for those kids.

Great plan.

That's really great. Sounds like you went to a good school that was well run.

Ive noticed the suburban townies from Baton Rouge and Lafayette tend to wait tables or bar tend and go to music festivals

And are still doing it well into their 20s

Its a bizarre sub culture of people

MacArthur HS and Irving ISD in general are not suburban, they are majority minority schools

Irving High is 80% hispanic

And those kids will serve as a reminder to others that you go to school to get a fricking education, not be a social justice warrior. The fact this is allowed to go on, and is even encouraged is one reason why we are pumping out socially sensitive idiots year after year.

It would have been fun to be one of the students who didn’t participate in the walk out.

How is being gay a political or sectarian issue?

LGBTQetc is directly involved with politics. Don’t be obtuse. Were you around during the last 2 elections? Did you spend time around varying backgrounds of kids during those periods? Remember, if you voted Trump you are a nazi in disguise who hates certain races, women, and homosexuals.

Yeah, and thankfully the culture and the community didn't tell me my problems were bigger than they were or that half of society was out to get me.

I think this is on point. The extreme focus on LGBT-plus will ensure that the issues DON’T go away.

It’s like the usage of the n-word. So long as one community continues to use it and defend it’s inclusion in rap lyrics, there will be a focus on it.

This is what's known as anecdotal evidence, genius.

But logical fallacies are only a leftist thing though, right?
