Given the stress of raising kids can have on a relationship, did your sex life get better once the kids were gone and you had an empty nest?

Ours never really got that bad once we didn't have infants or toddlers anymore.
We are probably 5 years away from being empty nesters.

I’ve been told that it does....but by then, you’re too old to give a damn!

I should be about 48 when we are empty nesters. Hopefully I'll still have plenty of a sex drive left at that age. Hell, I already don't have one of a 25 year old anymore

You get to go back to walking around naked....button you are old, wrinkled, and saggy so your partner is not as enticed as in your 20s

Kids made little difference for us. We've always had a very active sex life. But once menopause hit and was done her drive went way down. What was 5 times a week for years (seriously) turned into once every 2 to 3 weeks. Bad thing is my drive is the same. Frustrating.

you mean like in your 40's or 50's? I doubt it.

Once you retire you will discover that a good day is when the bed has to be made up more than once.

I don't know how old you are but you'll still want sex fairly regularly in your 40s if you have a typical sex drive
I suspect 50s too but I'm not there yet.

My strategy w kids depends on the door locks and I can fit my hand over her mouth
Won’t have to do either in 9 more years

You've been misinformed.
As women get into their mid 30's through their late 40's, their sexual appetites increase. Kind of nature's way of going "You're down to just a few eggs, make 'em count".
Ask some of the older single men here who have dated (read: banged) divorced women in that age group what their sex drives are like.

You need to make time NOW. No one is guaranteed tomorrow and once your kids grow up, all you’ll have is your spouse. You don’t want to grow apart. You need to put your marriage first or it won’t be there when your kids are gone.

Hell, I'm 70 and the wife is 68 and sex is always on my mind ... and she is still obliging at least once a week and more if the setting is right. Having the kids away is definitely once less hurdle.

i can tell you that your sex life gets better after divorce

Let me be honest. My wife lost interest after menopause to a degree, but then she got breast cancer. She’s fine but has to take a medicine that basically represses it. We’re both 62 so it doesn’t happen often anymore, but it’s more due to age and health. We were fine in our 40’s but age takes it toll on both sexes.
