I don’t really see the value of it as a currency. If I were selling something big, I’d much rather have $ than bitcoin. It fluctuates way too wildly. Might as well be given penny stocks as far as I’m concerned

Wiki was pimping bitcoin but he also claimed the price would stabilize and everyone would be using it in place of dollars. Neither has happened yet.

High arse transaction fees are going to destroy bitcoin as a “currency”

I did not agree with his pie in the sky ideas that it would replace national currencies all across the world. That still hasn't happened,
it kind of has, in many African and South American countries it is starting to be used in place of their native currencies. People have more faith in bitcoin than the bolivar and shite

all it would take is a couple of large scale miners to say "frick it" to crash bitcoin

It will eventually stabilize, but for now and the past few years it’s been trending up. People, a lot of people, are using bitcoin as a currency. Of course everyone isn’t going to use it in a matter of a few years, that’s ludicrous. You have a ridiculous bar set for being wrong.

I think a lot of people miss view the aruguements we had with Wiki. He as right on price, but I argued against the utopia of a one word currency and “laws of the universe” bit.

The fact remains. People pump and dump for US $$.

This is all very interesting though, but I maintain its true value is when it’s technology is attached to something like the dollar for more stability.

Hindsight and all, wish I had bought in.

I figured a government like Russia or even the US was going to step in and wreck it, since people are using it in Lieu of their native, weaker currencies.

There are 3 gas stations right near my office that have bitcoin atms next to regular atms. Must be a lot of bit coin owners around this part of atlanta

there will be a tipping point, where it happens i don't know

the total market cap of bitcoin far exceeds the cost of all goods and services that can be purchased with it

It is pretty well documented that the majority of bitcoin transactions are ownership changes not involving goods for sale
