Get your doc to prescribe Ciclopirox antifungal cream and go on Amazon and purchase 40% urea foot cream. The combination together will knock it out in 2-3 weeks/

Paint it with methylene blue daily, enough so that it soaks down into the cuticles all around the nail.

It will stain the area blue, but it will eventually root out the fungus.

Takes several weeks, but IMhO it’s better than taking the oral meds or having your nail removed.

Topical shite won’t work. You need oral meds.

Methylene blue will.

They didn’t teach us this in school, but it works. Seen it with my own eyes.

Get your GP to prescribe Lamisil. It's a pill form fungicide. I fully cured a case of toenail fungus that had lasted about 35 years. Grew up on a dairy and lived in rubber boots. Tried all the creams and folk remedies, and nothing would touch it. Six months on Lamisil, and athlete's foot is a thing of the past.

Bonus: It keeps the swamp arse at bay when you're taking it. I pop like one pill every week in June-August since my job has me in the heat.

Correct.
Lamisil will work but keep an eye on your liver.

Fungus? Are you sure the wife didn’t put the cooter on it?

You can always try your wife's cooter cream.

Miconazole can do wonders for yeast infections. It might be better than the expensive athlete's foot creams.

Go to the podiatrist. Get on Lamisil.

It took me two separate courses of Lamisil. 3 months each and had to wait about 6 months in between treatments.

I was feeling like the shite would never go away but the second round knocked it out.

Vicks VapoRub. Tried numerous treatments. It’s the only thing that made a difference. Now I’m just waiting for the nail to completely grow out.

Apply it on the nail, but also generously on the skin surrounding the nail. Clip your nail short, and grease up the nailbed there, too. My research indicated that the fungus looks for opportunities to “hide” under the skin, so you are trying to cut off its access to oxygen, among other things. It took a while, so be patient.

ETA: Forgot to mention that I applied it once a day, at bedtime. Didn’t want to deal with socks and shoes getting anointed with VapoRub.
