i mean they're a food truck trying to own an area of college bars with post-drinking finger food. you shouldn't expect them to try and figure out a way to add crème fraîche. at the end of the day they're running a business and need to appeal to their market.
But would hand cut fries, with fresh cut veggies and homemade chili and or other toppings be a little more notable? I'm guessing that's not the case here. If I start cooking up some Tony's frozen pizza, do I get called a courageous visionary with unique options like pepperoni or the option to sprint for a supreme?
If I'm wrong on their prep I'll eat my words a bit here but the signs are pointing towards simply assembly fast food style

Don't you have some widows to evict or some orphanages to close down?

*ETA: and the OP is definitely related to these girls biologically or socially
*sigh* Which girls? The one in the first thread or the ones in the second? All of them, including the ones in the next thread I post, about yet another set of college entrepreneurs?
You people....

Stfu slow. You know what I mean. It's not hard to cut your own fries, hell you sh(c)ould have them done the night before. I'm not against using some premade things but the little shite like cutting your own fries and shredding your own cheese making your ranch that will most certainly be drenching these fries. etc. goes a long way in flavor and actually saves money

visionary for the truck i suppose, but i clearly stated the OP was some sort of relation
if it isn't visionary, why are they the first?

I'd still rather see a dad with cash hook their daughter up with a food truck, rather than just give them a credit card. You gotta try to teach them a good work ethic.

that still adds costs (both in actual $ and time)

i doubt it would save money with the extra storage costs and man-hours required to prep (both prior and at service), but if i saw #s i could be proven wrong
there is a reason why fast food uses frozen, and this sort of operation is the exact same concept
drunk college kids are not exactly a barometer of gourmet, and i'd imagine is an indication of the exact opposite of that status/requirement

It's amazing how many OT threads start out positive and just get more and more cynical as the posts increase.
It's some motherfricking french fries!!

...and couldn't be more wrong. I'm not even in BR right now, I've been gone for awhile, and I won't be back for some time. Same as every year.
I've never met any of these young people. All my post are LSU-related...and that's the extent of it. While I'm sure there are bright young entrepreneurs from other colleges...I'm an LSU fan only.
Here is a link to my post history: TigersOfGeauxld. Feel free to enlighten me how this thread is any different in content, context, or structure to any of my others.
And one final note...I don't like to judge, but if you honestly have a hard time seeing that someone could post a thread like this without any ulterior motive, then you're in a bad place.
Just my two cents.

So they are selling frozen bagged fries that they buy and topping then with pre shredded bagged cheese. I'm sure they'll make a lot of money but god damn that makes me just lazy and pathetic
This post is the epitome of lazy and pathetic.
These are college kids appealing to the tastebuds of a post-bar college crowd. They don't want fresh cut fries and interesting ingredients. They are going to want familiar shite to eat quick and that's cheap.
So what exactly are you shitting on this venture for? I say good for anyone who can put themselves out there and try to run a business. Have to start somewhere.

To be honest , I wish there was a food truck in Tiger Land. The best we had was a Southern Bell Sammich from Circle K or wait 60 mins for a burger at Raul's (sp?)

cape is in the food industry on the artistic/production side

he sees this business as a sad state of affairs of the modern taste palate, i'm sure. he would be like a NYT culture/literature critic reading and reviewing your books. completely different sphere of taste with completely different markets.
i find many who perceive themselves as artists/auteurs have problems with the fact that the vast majority of people aren't

It's always great to hear how chefs feel about stuff like this. I enjoy seeing different perspectives.

My first experience with a food truck was at 2 am in front of the Rusty Nail. I enjoyed it.
