Right, but there were still periods of time when they weren't in school, like Summer

all 3 of my boys (oldest is 10) play multiple sports, play outside daily, do physical activity daily, ride bikes in the neighborhood....essentialyl same type of childhood I lived 30 years ago but they are much harder workers than me.

They all have tablets and use them only in the car or at night before bed. all 3 of mine are upset if they make anything below a 99 on their report card and older 2 are gifted doing multi variable algebra in elementary school.

So OP, frick off. You can remind me I was lazy parent in 20 years when your kids work for mine.

also where did this idea that parents are not allowed to be lazy with their kids come from?

lazy all the time? sure...that's bad

but sometimes parents get to be lazy and anyone that tries to judge that has either never been a parent or is too old to remember what it was like to have young kids

Parents with this mindset are so full of shite. Kids don't act like adults. Kids can be good 90% of the time but it is human nature that a 4 year old for example will occasionally act like a 4 year old.

Any parent claiming their child never has the occasional outburst is simply lying.

I don't see a difference between tablet children and gameboy children from the 90s.

Putting stuff like tablets, iPads, iPhones, etc. in front of a kid’s face to amuse them is bad for the kid.

fricking this.

Look if we sit down at a meal, I can talk with my wife, two older kids. But have you ever tried to speak to a 5 year old for a length of time? Anyone that acts like it is so easy is full of shite, is not a parent, or only has one kid. they can frick right off with that shite.

You're right. Your parents never, ever put on cartoons for you to keep you entertained while they needed to do a few things around the house.

I think after a certain age, it's fine. But it's crazy that 2 and 3 year olds have to have a phone or tablet in front of them to calm them down.

All i’m saying is that parents are too scared of their kids or feel too guilty or whatever to stand up to them. If you want to be lazy, just tell the kids to go play in their room or go outside.

I couldn’t read a book on my gameboy. Or research the internet. You must have had the gameboy+
