The last vehicle I bought, the salesman spent more time trying to sell the extended warranty than the vehicle itself.

I’ve never purchased a warranty on anything and never plan to. Tundra - 230,000 miles, no issues.
I think this is a fair counterpoint. Warranties are situational dependent. They are not right in all circumstances. Toyota Tundras are historically very reliable. If you are driving Inc a GM truck or SUV with more Tina 80k and do not ba e an extended warranty you are inviting a $6000 bill coming due any day.

They would not offer extended warranties if they didnt make money on selling em...which means they pay out less than the premiums. I made a decision to never get an extended warranty.
So they should give them away for free? These things basically ARE insurance policies. No different than Car liability, comp collision or homeowners. Of course, they make a profit off them. So what?
Don't like the numbers? Negotiate them down.

5year/60000 factory warranty. If you invest $100 monthly into VOO each month, at the end of 5 years you would ~$11,000.
Not many people only put 10k miles a year

5/60000 comes out to 12,000 year. National average is 13,500.
Unlimited miles extended warranties are very expensive.

You can always buy one later. Just wait a few days and they'll call.
