Life, friend. Training for life. Let’s both hit that huge incline at Tunica Hills and see who’s huffing and puffing after. Let’s compare resting heart rates. A lot of people commit 15% effort and like to hate on the people who actually try. I don’t dislike you for it, I wish you cared more about yourself to be the best version of yourself.
All I’m talking about is the word, not living a healthy lifestyle.

I get what you’re trying to say but I disagree. I’m not training for the NBA or the combine but I do train. I don’t know why you care about the subjective terminology of it, but I am aiming to get faster, stronger, and more athletic always. I have goals and objectives so I train for them. I’m not special, I was 135 pounds when I graduated college until my buddy finally got me to hit the gym and it changed my life. I want that for everyone, everyone can be way more than they think.

The best part about this thread is learning the two biggest opponents of people losing weight are a fat guy that can’t say no to drugs and a short king with the genetic abnormality that doesn’t allow him to grow taller than a below average middle schooler.
Good times, indeed.

you will learn very quickly....the OT only wants you to do what they want and how they say its acceptable to achieve....anything else is unacceptable

It’s almost as if everyone is a little different and has their own challenges and we should encourage everyone to be the best version of themselves.

"Not much is douchier than calling exercise or working out “training”
What is it that you’re “training” for?"
I've always understood that working out is basically getting your heart rate up and breaking a sweat. Doing similar workouts with the same exercises and weights. Training on the other hand is constantly asking your body to do something that it's not used to doing. Always mixing up your workouts with different exercises, heavier weights, more reps, less rest between sets ect........ It doesn't necessarily mean you're "training" for a specific competition or sport.

yea saying training is not douchie at all. its about training for specific goals. doesnt have to be for a sport
working out is just doing random exercises to get heart rate up

Agreed. I think the rub here is that pharmaceuticals don’t represent that. Proper diet, exercise and self-determination are far more optimal.
If Ozempic is the kickstarter for someone to get in shape that’s awesome. But if they are relying on that entirely well then ….

As a general thought, I do love that we are shifting away from romanticizing "body positivity" in fat people. Now that there is a shot, a lot of these people are admitting "yeah being fat isn't good".
I made this comment yesterday and got targeted with a few old articles about this today. Very weird my posts are getting monitored by algorithms, but it's great to see!
Shows what I've believed all along to be true - no one actually believes it's ok to be fat, it was performative. They just justify it with "body positivity" because they can't or won't lose weight. Now that they can all lose weight easily, skinny is back in.
Ozempic has won, body positivity has lost
Ozempic cracks body positivity
Could Ozempic derail body positivity?
Body positivity is nice, but no one actually believes it
So was body positivity all a lie?
If you want to be fat, fine, but don't piss on me and tell me it's raining. You're not healthy and fat isn't beautiful.

Jeez, we just covered all of that. Maybe people are weaker than others and this helps them to achieve their goal. We’ve tried yelling at people “eat less love around more” for years and where has that gotten us as a society?

We do that far less than shoving pharmaceuticals down people’s throats. How many PSAs have you seen on TV around proper diet and exercise? Now compare that with pharmaceutical commercials.
Perhaps that message you just suggested is getting drowned out these days?

Side bar:
I think pharmaceutical commercials for prescription only medications should be banned like cigarette ads were.

Being on hormone therapy for the rest of your life is the exact opposite of being the best version of yourself.
And by the way, I’m 5’2 and down to 144 doing all this cardio
