Stop. I don’t care if it was Paw Paw’s. Get a new American flag to fly and properly retire your faded and tattered US flag whipping in the wind on your roadside pole. Just because Johnny Cash wrote a song about it doesn’t mean it’s right. Proudly display a new and colorful

Big pet peeve of mine. I’ve even gone so far as to take them down myself and bring them to the owner with a polite request to no fly it torn or ripped.

These days I’d rather a tattered flag than no flag. F this current admin and their illegal immigration.
ETA: do you know where your USA flags are made? Buy American!

If you don’t know how to dispose of, most Ace Hardwares will collect them and turn over to Boy Scouts to dispose of properly

I'd rather a tattered American-made flag than one of your shiny Chinese ones

Smoke Ring definitely buys the cheapo $10.99 USA flag made in China

Bought one from Lowe’s in 2019 For the fourth. By 2021 inauguration it was looking tattered. Let it fly tattered for a year as a representation of the state of the union. Then took it down for the rest of the term. Will be getting a new one soon.

Funny how you never see one in a liberal’s yard.

My renters were flying a faded tattered flag. Probably one that was ok when we left. I sent them a new one and told them to change it.
Drives me nuts.
Drives me nuts.

Disgraceful
Adhere to proper flag protocol or don’t fly one

I only display the American flag when a Republican is President. Old Glory is going back up January 20th.

I see businesses all the time flying tattered flags and it drives me nuts. If you are going to make a show of how patriotic your business is at least make sure you fly a decent looking flag.

I wish more people would read the rules of the American flag. That's so disrespectful and they don't even realize it.

I’ve had to contact three organizations— a National Guard Armory, a US Courthouse, and a city’s Veterans Memorial— to tell them that they were flying tattered and ripped flags that were in desperate need of replacement.
Each time, I noticed the ragged flags and let it go for days before I contacted them, thinking that surely one person among their group would notice it. Nope. Pathetic. To their credit, they replaced the flags immediately after I contacted them.
Back in the late 80s when the Supreme Court issued its flag burning decision, many folks were in an uproar. One news article of the era was a picture in The Advocate of a ripped and faded flag hanging from a single grommet. The caption was something like: “This is the flag that flies above the West Baton Rouge Parish courthouse, where the police jury voted unanimously yesterday to send a resolution to Congress in support of a constitutional amendment to allow punishment for flag desecration."
