I'm flying with my boss from Mississippi to North Carolina tmrw morning in his Twin Engine Cessna Conquest II. I've flown with him before and I've been in a small prop plane on 3 different occasions.

I've been a nervous wreck every time I've flown in one. Do any of ya'll have bad anxiety when flying in small private planes? I'm definitely going to pop some anxiety meds in the morning to chill me out.

He said that he's actually been in the plane.

Last time we flew together I sat in copilot seat....an alarm started going off on the planes dash when we we 15000 feet up. He yelled "Oh shite". The last thing I want to hear the pilot say is "Oh shite". I nearly shite my pants.

Luckily the alarm was caused by him forgetting to turn the knob to decompress the cabin. After he turned the knob, the alarm went off a few seconds later.

Flying as a passenger in the copilot seat I looked over at the pilot and saw he was doubled over. He was looking at a chart spread out at his feet but for a second I had sheer panic as I thought he was dead or passed out.

Had to do an emergency landing in a Cessna 340 one time that my friend was piloting. I’m never getting in another dual prop plane that small ever again.

I have the opposite issue as you...

I get paranoid on the commercial jets, but on the smaller bush planes I'm perfectly comfortable

Nope.

Although bouncing one off the runway after a downdraft doing some touch and go practice scared me shitless

I feel all of your concerns are warranted.

Keep your seatbelt fastened. He may try to push you out.

Seriously though. My college girlfriend's dad flew us back and forth from my state to hers and reverse. On one occasion when I was sitting in the co-pilot's seat he asked if I wanted to fly it, and without waiting for a response flipped the controls over to me. I quickly learned that it is real easy to gain altitude just by the pressure of your hands gripping the controls. Did not want to try landing the thing. He was that kind of guy, though, a self-made millionaire who was riding a Harley to work in his fifties.

Also, I forgot to mention that he has a known bug in his autopilot firmware. Every now and then it makes his plane slightly go up and down like its a boat on water.

I was going to drive to North Carolina this time....but the thought of driving through Atlanta traffic was enough for me to say frick that. I don't understand how anyone would want to live in that cesspool.

Don’t fly with your boss if he’s the “pilot.”

“Luckily”. is an apt description.

It's the same type airplane Bo Rein was on when he died. They are good airplanes but getting pretty old.

My brother is a retired Air Force fighter pilot. His specialty is spin and recovery and he trains fighter pilots now. I trust him implicitly. That doesn't mean I don't crap myself just a little bit when we we're up in his single engine Cessna when the wind just makes the world drop out from under you for a second or two.
