I posted yesterday that I tested positive for flu type A yesterday morning and started Tamiflu

its been 48 hours since my symptoms started and honestly I don't know what to think. ive never had the flu before but heres the weird thing. I don't have fever or sore throat or cough. all I have is body aches and fatigue and congestion.

I was thinking its got to be one of the following

1. false test(although I read where false negatives are much more likely than false positives)

2. I caught it early enough to where the Tamiflu is working and I wont get any worse?

3. im one of the less than 5% who don't get a fever or sore throat with the flu

what do you think? I feel fine other than the fatigue, just feels like a sinus headache. weird

am I still contagious though without a sore throat or fever?

I feel very refreshed and want to go to the gym but don't want to get anyone sick

After 24 hours with no fever, you are no longer contagious.

I'm told you're not contagious if you don't have a fever.

Don't go to the gym, you're still sick and it will take a toll on your body. Take it easy and drink plenty of fluids. You will still feel weird for a week. I still do.

I didnt have fever or sore throat either, its just the strain you have + tamilfu. Flu A isnt a particular type a flu its just a category with many other flus in that category.

Yes you have the flu. Not everyone gets all the symptoms. The one I'm hearing everyone complain about this year is body aches.

That's what separates the flu from the common cold in my experience, anyway.

I don't get a sore throat, necessarily, or even a cough. I haven't had the flu in years, but the last time, the only symptoms I had were runny nose, body aches, fatigue and fever. No cough, no sore throat.

This was me 3 years ago when I had the flu.

ETA: I think I had a mild fever now that I think about it, like 99-101 range.

I'm convinced this stuff comes from Zeus himself, I felt 100x's better after I took it.

Before anyone can give you a definitive answer you have to tell us the color and consistency of your stool (poop) this morning. Please examine it and let us know.

Probably no.2 since you caught the virus early and were given tamiflu. I've had the flu 3 times in the last ten years and twice with little problems similar to yours and once where I felt death would've been better.. Only once did I take tamiflu.

I went to the doctor yesterday and have it as well. I had a sore throat, congestion, headache, and body aches but low grade fever. I had starting showing symptoms Wednesday. Started tamiflu last night and have only presented with less of a sore throat so far

For my husband and son their main bad complaint was headaches. Tamiflu was started within 48 hours and things improved quickly for them. The 3 of us in the house with them have not gotten the flu.

Man, my little girl came down with Type A about 12 days ago. She woke up at 4am and I'd honestly never seen her so sick. She was soaking wet, shivering and describing pains all over her body. Kept saying I have a "bad headache" and I didn't even know she knew what that was. Of course she was also puking and shitting everywhere. Her fever was 102.8 so we took her to the ER. They diagnosed it, and gave her an initial dose of tamaflu, but once we got her home we couldn't force her to take it. Her symptoms continued until about midnight that night, then woke up the next day looking and feeling like her old self. but her obvious symptoms lasted less than 24 hours. She was completely fine the next day, and basically only fully ingested 1 dose of tamaflu.

How sick one gets depends on the individual, general state of health, relative "strength" of immune system and also how virulent the strain is that is infecting individuals in the community - some strains are much worse than others - among other things. Also individuals who received the immunization often appear to experience an attenuated course of illness due to some degree of up-regulation of the immune system to the virus. And, Tamiflu is likely helping you as well, especially if started early in the course.
