RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- A 29-year-old Raleigh woman has died from "an apparent cardiac event following complications from the flu."

Scarlett VanStory Levinson died Tuesday. She was originally from Fayetteville and was working as a lawyer at Levinson & Axford, which has offices in Raleigh and Benson.

"Scarlett was a valued and beloved member of our firms, remarkable for her generosity, wit, and big heart. We have lost a great friend, colleague, and partner," the company said in a statement. "She will be missed by everyone at our firms, our families, and the North Carolina community at large."

Damn shame...every year, I hear of the flu killing a couple of relatively young and otherwise healthy people in my local area.

How do you know she didn't get the flu shot? You can still get the flu even if you get the flu shot.

I got the shot last year, earlier this year started feeling kinda bad one evening. Next day took my daughter to school then went to Dr to get checked out. Next thing I know I'm waking up on the hallway floor with someone doing chest compressions. All I could do was tell them to call my wife because she was out of state for work. They rushed me to hospital and checked me out. Luckily no heart attack, just severely dehydrated, even though I drink water like crazy. I was down for over a week. I have already gotten my shot this year.

A lot of times when you see a story of a healthy person dying from the flu it’s a coverup. They have a bigger chance of dying from the shot. But for some reason the govt wants to make sure everyone gets the shot so they don’t want to scare people.

I would assume she had an underline issues, and the flu made it trigger. Prayers to her family.

- They don't know if she had the flu shot
- She went to urgent care at some point in her life before this b/c she felt bad
- She felt better
- She went jogging, came back, and suffered "an apparent cardiac event"

Media blames the flu

No shot for me, and I still don't have the flu

You need more than water. You need to replenish your electrolytes, and lemonade is one of the best drinks to replenish electrolytes.

IDK. I had the flu last year. All I could do is cover up, put a space heater at my face, and sleep.
