Appraisal district satellite images aren't always accurate, but a search on the shooter's name seems to back up the story that his fence is way inside the victim family property line.
Is that also a fence inside red property line on other side of house?
A fence inside property lines can be by choice, but if consistently off with other houses nearby it might be angle when image taken from satellite. The view does seem more over the top than when I used a service and saw the property line overlays consistently off.
If off from real property lines a little it would suck if the person killed used that as a basis to get on other side of the fence to trim the tree.

Though there seems to be a fence line on the other side that is off by the same amount.
Satellite images can drift from the property lines, so it's not certain without a survey.

Druzolowski told deputies he was in his bedroom watching football when his wife told him that their neighbor – Ford -- was cutting branches off one of their trees. He initially brushed it off, but his wife reportedly came back a short time later and said their fence gate was open and that the neighbor was on their property.
I feel like all the worlds ills have there root in some woman bitching.

it was a joke. But given your complete lack of a sense of humor, the dude is dead so he probably would have listened if he were given a do over

This is Florida, stand your ground is legal.
If the old man was on his own property and they guy keeping coming at him, despite being warned and then pulled an empty trigger and he still kept coming. It will be an interesting case.

Local news shows that gate is on that fence that could be far inside the victim family property.
Moral: ignore your spouse when watching TV.

is it me or does the state of the world have society and EVERYONE in an angrier overall mood than decades past?
This shite has always happened. We just didn't have this place and the rest of the internet to tell us about it in decades past.
There is however one huge verifiable change from years past, and that is states no longer warehouse nutjubs in locked down insane asylums but instead rely on pharmaceuticals to protect normal society from them.

Only applies if you consider tree-trimming a forcible felony.

Old man was the aggressor. I invite you to peruse through chapter 776 of my state's statutes. I'll even spot you the LINK.

He's probably one of those shite bags who has their fence built out a few inches too far every so often to purposely try and steal the neighbor's land.

Like the old proverb said, "Good fences make dead neighbors."

Ford reportedly walked towards him and did not stop.
"Get off my property right now," he reportedly told Ford, according to the report.
"Stop right now or I'll shoot," he said.
Druzolowski told deputies that his gun holds six rounds and that he usually keeps the first to empty. He pulled the trigger once, but Ford reportedly kept walking towards him so he fired again, according to the report. Ford was hit in the chest, he thought, the report said.
He then told his wife to call 911.
I'm a 78 year old man standing on my own property have a verbal argument with another person, who refuses to leave my property. So I legally arm myself, tell him to get off my property and he approaches me on my property. Continues to approach even after I pulled the trigger the first time. I wasn't the aggressor, I was standing my ground. That would be my argument.

Elsewhere Ford’s mom is quoted as saying fence is hers and is inside her property by 2 feet at trees.
quote:
She insisted that her son was working on her property, not the neighbor's. 'My fence is two feet inside my yard.
So I go another two feet outside my fenced area,' she said.
With growth those trees I would still doubt the son stayed within 2 feet and didn’t go into property, but they lived there for decades surely this has come up before.
