JUPITER, Fla. -- $944.34 was the total outstanding lunch debt in all nine Jupiter area schools and one local man says that's a small price to pay to make a big difference in a life of a child
quote:

When Levy learned that over 400 kids in his community couldn't get a full meal in their school cafeterias, he felt he had to take action.
quote:

"I went in there and I said 'I want to pay off the lunch debt,'" Andrew Levy said.
quote:

"These children that were in debt were going to either not eat or they would get just cheese sandwiches and I thought 'that's crazy,'" Levy said.
quote:

He had no agenda, no children in the district and no personal connection to the schools, but he knew he could make a difference, so he made it happen.
quote:

After he paid the bills, Levy posted about it on Facebook.

That's the kind of officer material the Cajun Navy is looking for right there.

Did him posting it on FB unpay the bill?
Who cares if he posted it. Hell if he paid it just so he could post it, who cares? Still paid it.

we might as well provide free lunch to everyone. Plenty of kids already get free lunch. If we the taxpayers are going to pay for any meals, it might as well include our kids.

Agreed.

Maybe his FB post will inspire others to pay something forward. At least he didn't set up a GoFundMe.

While funny, I have no issue with him posting on FB, especially if others are stepping up and doing this.

Florida Man is busy on Facebook today. Found this link in the OP's article:

quote:

Florida man was arrested Monday after he tried to settle a longstanding feud by driving his car into the house of the people he was feuding with, WFLA reports.

Deputies say Timothy Farmer, 47, was found behind the wheel of his Ford Explorer backed into the house with a strong odor of alcohol on his breath.

quote:

The apparent owner of the house voiced their aggravation in a statement on Facebook, saying:

“Not exactly the Monday I planned. This is our rental house! This was our first home, the one we brought our babies home to. The jerk across the street has had issues with our tenant, who are wonderful by the way! He was drunk and decided he was going to destroy our home. This was all done on PURPOSE! I just can’t believe how cruel people can be.”

Farmer was charged with DUI, resisting arrest, burglary, felony criminal mischief, driving with a suspended license and violation of pretrial release.

So instead of cheese sandwiches, they got their daily dose chicken nuggets or pizza.

I doubt seriously any of them ate so much as an apple slice or carrot stick.

Is this true? Never heard that kids don't get the full meal at a school.

Also, when are we going to do income checks and make parents foot the bill for lunch for their kids. Most make plenty to afford that.
