Look at the companies who were getting over $1M with less than 20 employees. Yet my company could have doubled our PPP amount and had the full amount forgiven on just payroll, ad still been under $1M

I am certain that EVERYONE who committed any type of fraud with a loan amount of greater than $500,000 will be prosecuted.
From $150,000-$500,000 will be 50/50.
Under $150,000 you’d have to be dumb to get caught which will be more likely than you’d think.
I think the outright fraud (falsifying payroll, fake companies, etc.) will he identified fairly quickly.
That said, I read that SBA basically told business owners they would not investigate the “need” aspect for loans below $1MM (if I remember correctly). So I don’t think companies that applied for PPP loans despite knowing they would not have any adverse financial impacts from COVID will be investigated. Not as bad as the outright fraud in OP, but still frustrating.

We ALL have. It’s why we didn’t think the PPP program was a good idea.
I’m going off in a tangent now, but because of the inherent individuality of western culture, and America in particular, communism/socialism/collectivism will not work. It is ingrained into us to look for an angle, look for advantages, exploit opportunities. You can’t have that with any form of collectivism.

Sounds like the bank didn’t verify via W3, 940 or 941 data. Due diligence would have made it so easy to prevent this.

When you add on state unemployment you get around $830/week, for the months of April, May, June, and July, so 16 x $830 = $13,280. I do not know what other states’ additions where, couples milking the system could have fraudulently claimed over $20,000 over the course of this whole crisis
