Friends,

I hope we can keep shut the doors of all casinos, bars, and night clubs not just for the next 30 days but forever. These dens of iniquity only hurt society, families, and individuals. They serve no good purpose and are antithetical to a healthy country.

Sincerely,
TulaneLSU

Your post count and history betray that, but continue to delude yourself.

Are we going to reimburse these businesses for an entire month’s worth of lost income?

This will bankrupt thousands of small businesses.

Lives destroyed.

Well it’s too late. We are not going back now.

So what is best is for everyone to actually take it seriously and self quarantine as much as possible so that we can go back to some normalcy as quickly as possible.

But we all know that isn’t going to happen, and the people that don’t take it seriously will be crying the loudest when all of this just continues longer.

I suspect that's why the Trump administration is pushing GOP senators to quickly pass a $750-$850 billion economic package to help. Of course, some posters on here might call such massive government spending to prop up private industries "socialism," so...

We have already fricked our selves by shutting down the country for 4 weeks, with or without stopping this virus.

At this point, the only outcome is whichever one is less awful than all of the others, and Scruffy isn’t sure that any of our future outcomes are “less awful”.

What a fricking loser of a governor. I thought Republicans were supposed to be pro-business rights.

Does he even have the power to do this? Shouldn't it have to pass the legislature?

4 dead in Florida out of 21.3 million people. Not even one out of 5 million people have died. People use the one in a million phrase to describe super long odds, but the coronavirus hasn't even killed 20% of that many people in FL.

The bartenders in Florida need to sue the governor for lost wages.

It's a bit discriminatory to only close bars, anyway. Why should bars be closed, but normal restaurants be allowed to remain open? It's almost like the governor is some closeted Prohibitionist who now sees an excuse to close all the bars.

President Trump, yes, Donald J. Trump, just said in his press conference that he's annoyed by people still trying to go out to bars and restaurants and emphasized the importance of lives.

So, I dunno, I guess that makes Trump a raving socialist. Dunno who the Trump voters can turn to if they want to see some paradise of zero government.
