Florida ends "Alimony for life". Divorced broads are freaking out. This is hilarious.

Youtube - Boo Hoo

If her alimony ends she says she will have to go on government assistance.
Always looking for someone else to pay their bills.

It's funny how a girl can become accustomed to a certain level of finances and the guy has to pay her after they split up but a guy can become accustomed to a certain level of blowjobs and the woman can just drop that to zero after marriage and the court is silent.

I read that some states require the ex-husband to get alimony insurance to assure the ex-wife can keep getting alimony after he dies.

This is a great idea. There's no incentive for divorced chicks to do anything productive if they know they are getting a check every month for the rest of their lives.

Alimony if given, should be maxed out at 2-3 years.

No justification otherwise to keep the gravy train rolling.

There was a thread on Poli a few weeks back of some chick FREAKING about this and saying she would never vote for Desantis now. That was fun.

Well, I wasn't a DeSantis fan before but this may change my mind.

it should never be allowed longer than the marriage lasted, and if the woman remarries, it should be ceased.

That seems reasonable. I’m pretty sure here you also forfeit alimony if you cohabit with someone else (the Florida language reads like that’s not the case there pre-law). That’s pretty fricked up.

The fiancé’s ex-wife wanted something like $3,000 a month in alimony because she was purposefully underemployed (even after their daughter was school aged) once she figured out they could live on his salary alone. She didn’t realize when she moved in with her boyfriend that in the state of Kentucky, you forfeit any alimony.

Pretty sure this was always the case (never divorced and didn't live in all these states), but it appears what this new law will do is cut off those women that wouldn't remarry because their ex made more money while they were in a long-term relationship with the new guy

Good. Especially if the woman initiated the divorce. Any woman who chooses to divorce her husband, no matter the reason, has obviously decided that she doesn’t need or want his money any more.

How does it define "moved in"? List as permanent address, Utilities in name, there xx days a month?

I wouldn't say "no matter the reason", but there should be limitations for how long the husband should support the wife.

This will be added to the criteria for “worst states” to reside in by Yahoo, NYT, msnbc etc when in fact, this is a great change in the law from a fairness and public policy standpoint.
