Didn't even know this was a thing. There's one in Frisco and I will definitely be checking it out.

I tried one. I had trouble relaxing because it was hot and humid as frick in there. Nothing crazy happened. It was pretty much what I expected.

Just be ready for the lack of noise, I was amazed at how much background noise we have around, and how bad my tinnitus was.

What kinda fish they got in this tank? I got some friends from down the road that are looking to get some urban recreation in. They've never caught a hipster.

Was just told BR has one.

I actually hadn't thought of that...I pretty much always have some kind of background noise going to drown out this...

They are super serious about preventing any bodily fluids from getting in there. If you piss in there, they'll charge you several hundred dollars to clean the whole thing.

Then I'll drop a deuce and a-half in there to get my money's worth.

It's supposed to be very enlightening.... akin to taking psychedelics.

Psychedelics are much cheaper, and are a fun group activity.

I wonder how many people float before they change the water.

If properly maintained the water doesn't need to be changed. It's filtered 5-7 times through a pool filter. The magnesium itself kills most things. Then it's treated with ozone, h2o2, and uv light.

How's the airflow? I don't want to be stuck with my fart bubbles for an hour.

Hilarious how sheltered some of the folks on this board can be. It reminds me of high school 20 years ago "lol what kind of an idiot would pay for that, I'll piss in it."

Sensory deprivation tanks are pretty cool and they've been around (not mainstream) for a while. People pay hundreds an hour for psychologists and therapy but in my experience a lot of people just need some time away from the noise of modern society.

The way it works is they put enough salt in the tank another u float on top and feel weightlessness, while also keeping the water and room at it natural body temperature. It's not just herp derp lay in a bath tub for 50 an hour.
