Why does the plane turn pink over the Atlantic? Is it due to lack of a signature? DAL0085 is the flight number.

I think position is extrapolated when it gets far enough out over ocean

Ground based radar only goes so far. It’s a projected image based on estimates.

I've done quite a few North Atlantic crossings and have always been aware of breasts

This may be a dumb question, but are you always in contact with an ATC? Are there any dead spots out there?

indirectly, through satellite communication, High Frequency radio, and ACARS(satellite)

Flight radar 24 A lot more user friendly. I really enjoy it.
