NY Times is reporting that they have already found debris confirming it crashed into the sea.

The Indonesian National Search and Rescue Agency said it had found pieces of debris in waters just northwest of Jakarta that it believed may be from the plane’s wreckage, but it said that darkness had impeded its search. The area where the debris was found is known as the Thousand Islands.

Fire up the Malaysian airline MH370 thread. One of my favorite TD threads ever. Right behind the Boston bomber and Mickey schunick.

Yeah, it was a 737-500, which is referred to as the "Classic." I believe they are the shortest 737's produced.

If they find survivors, which dressings will be used for the wounds?

My wife is from Jakarta and still owns a house there. She hasn't been back in like 10 years so she wants to go this year after Covid vaccine is spread more. Can't say I'm looking forward to it. Closest I've been to that part of the world is Fiji. We flew Fiji air out of LAX and it's scary flying over that much ocean for 12 hours much less in a 25 year old plane.

We dropped 6500 ft in a split second once in a cessna citation between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Pilot said it was due to heat thermals coming off of the mountains. Whatever it was made me need new underwear.
