I don't know about China but in the US there there is apparently a lot of people wanting to be a flight attendant. They don't cut anyone any slack. My cousin went to attendant training in somewhere in Georgia and was 5 min late for a class. They kicked her out and said she was blacklisted from any other training program.

Asian airlines take their service very seriously, it's one of the reasons why the top worldwide airlines every year are mostly composed of Asian airlines.

On these asian airlines there are often requirements that the flight attendants have to be single, below a certain weight and below a certain age. If the get married, gain too much weight or once they reach a certain age they are let go for one of the many younger girls waiting in line for the job. I sometimes think thats the way it should be here too, especially after dealing with some of the old, fat, ugly, grouchy flight attendants that we have.
