I assume some people enjoy living in the city.

Correct. And usually those who are content with where they live don’t cast stones at other places.

The moths to the flame that are NOLA threads on this board do make me question the overall happiness of suburban and rural Louisiana residents.

Bay St Louis seems to be a popular spot of late for Nola transplants

Home health rehab services company. Also an outpatient clinic in nola. Hiring someone to run clinic and can run home health remotely.

My wife does home health rehab and is looking for more work. If you’re serious I can post my email. Or possibly DM me, I don’t know if that’s a feature on TD.

Regarding 30a, it has gotten to the point that $800-$900K does not buy much anymore. Realtors are begging for houses to sell as there is no inventory. Watersound Origins is one of the few communities left at that price level. Very nice, golf, tennis, walking and bike trails, pools, farmers market, etc.

Building a camp there to be the home away from home. Will probably be there more often than not. Much better place than Nola and it's suburbs.

Less than 1/2 mi from Mobile Bay and 90’ above sea level. Eastern shore of Mobile Bay is has highest cliffs/elevation on the American Atlantic Seabord.

Not immune to wind damage, but storm surge/levee dependency isn’t an issue.

"Back in the early 90's... was the mood this bad about the future?"

Not close to as bad as it is now.

The city currently has:

(1) a district attorney who was elected while under federal indictment;

(2) a D.A.'s office that refuses to prosecute crime;

(3) a mayor's office that has consistently harmed private business;

(4) a police department losing officers at a dramatic rate;

(5) the inability to keep schools open on days when "it might rain," for fear of flooding;

(6) a magic eight ball to tell whether or not "the pumps are working";

(7) high taxes, and with little return;

(8) high insurance rates; and

(9) hindsight demonstrating that the clean slate and federal dollars that were presented post-Katrina were squandered.

And all this against a national backdrop demonstrating that most urban areas these days refuse to protect citizen taxpayers' safety and property rights (their one true obligation),
