Similar but unrelated.

You aren't supposed to run lights because an ambulance is behind you.
Also the following distance prescribed by emergency vehicles is to allow room for vehicles who yielded to get back in.

What if every light is flashing yellow? Seems you could have a problem with traffic control.

While we’re bitching, let’s talk about yield signs and how the retards in this city have no idea how to treat one. Particularly the feeders on both sides of I-10 near the mall.

On the "New" flashing yellow left turn signal:

Having a flashing yellow left turn arrow, before or after a solid green arrow, instead of just a green light, has confused some Louisiana drivers.

Was behind a car that stopped and waited four or five seconds when the solid green left turn arrow turned to a yellow flashing arrow, earlier this week. It didn't change because the light was about to turn red, It changed because the traffic coming toward us got their green light. The yellow flashing left turn arrow was on for probably another 30 to 40 seconds. Stopping would have made sense if cars had been coming but there were no cars coming. He realized he could go, and did, and I was able to also turn too.

I've got this on the yellow flashing light that precedes a red light:

When I lived in Dallas, a yellow flashing light meant floor it and get through. I learned this unwritten rule by getting rear ended stopping for a yellow light one morning, and getting side swiped one afternoon when I took off as soon as a light turned green. You have to watch for the intersection to clear when you get a green light.

That is freaking sketchy, especially when cars behind the one going decide to go as well.

The Illegals in Texas do this all the time. A Mexican American friend I used to carpool with used to yell, "This isn't Mexico!" at them. He said driving down there was a free for all.

Some people in this thread have never been through a flashing yellow light where the speed limit is 75, and it shows. It's to mark where the intersection is for people who need to turn, especially in the dark.

And you're fricked if one of them wrecks with you. You can bet your arse it's going to be a non insured motorist claim on your policy.
