Disney is the primary land owner. Their taxes on the property will be assessed and millage will be corrected. They had control over all of it. Their most important assessment was on the DVC properties. That is public record. The assessment was important because technically DVC owners are property owners. Their years dues were based heavily on property taxes… taxes controlled by reedy creek (Disney). It will be interesting to see how assessments change when a lab outside party does the work.

Have you ever had to deal with the government to get something built? Being able to bypass all of that and control it yourself when you are as large as Disney is a massive advantage
That shite has been built for over 30 years! Apparently, they are getting something pretty big now, or they wouldn't give a shite.

As a former DVC owner, this is awesome! I actually sold mine for a profit! I hope this destroys DVC by increasing the cost to the owners.

We can all hate Disney for multiple reasons, and they are all valid

But ironically, they are a shining example of how well something can be run and maintained when the fricking government isn’t involved

So do you think Disney is just going to stop Maintaining these things?

Disney is nothing but efficient. They were the business owner, lender, regulator, etc… multiple companies all under a single umbrella. It worked well because all Disney wanted was to get things done for its own benefit. With that came lots of benefits. Tax evasion, borrowing from yourself for taxes, etc. Disney made (saved) a ton of money because of the deal they made over 50 years ago. Politicians and many others have been wanting to deal over it for decades. Well, Disney stopped all local and state donations… to all parties. So how’s the time for those people (Dems and reps) to remove this extra perk for Disney who has decided to become political. All sides truly want their special business model broken apart. They left themselves wide open and only have themselves to blame. Chapek has been a disgrace.

If this helps Disney, why are they pissed?

Exactly! Desantis isn't going to frick his self on purpose, and the Disney woke crowd are screaming like a stuck pig. Disney's board of directors and shareholders need to find a new CEO stat!

They will have to go through the proper protocols for it now. As someone who used to live on a street that was falling apart, simply fixing it yourself isn’t an option

With something as large as Disney with all the roads and such they have, I would imagine that becomes a massive headache

I sold mine too. I bought Saratoga for $51 per point and Bay Lake for $129 per point. I made a fortune when I sold.

Louisiana politics isn’t Florida politics. Places with money have really good infrastructure. Look at the panhandle. Disney Is just going to have to pay up front instead of using accounting tricks to loan themselves the money for improvements and infrastructure updates. Boo. Hoo.

Random question: if I was driving drunk on Disney roads, is it Disney PD that takes me to jail?

It was never “Disney PD” technically.

Isn't Disney a tax payer in the county?

Would they not be increasing revenue on property taxes, permit fees, etc?

Of course they would, but that doesn't fit OP's crooked arse agenda. So let's not talk about that. Let's pretend FL taxpayers have to absorb $1 bi in bond obligations...

Right, WDW is an absolute immovable object. Best they can do is start building a new one in a state willing to give them the keys to the castle and maybe sunset FL operations in 50 years.

Hey, Castaway Caydyn, you're missing the obvious here. Every single politician named in the OP is banking they won't be a Florida politician if DeSantis pulls off a miracle in 2024. In the meantime, let the red meat mid-term platform of showing those loud, boisterous gays how the mouse eats the cheese commence.

There is a disney security, but on the highways they primarily rely on Highway Patrol.
