OP did not indicate the presence of 25 pound rocks and specifically eliminated tree branches for climbing or club making. He also did not indicate that the chimps knew sign language or had any military training whatsoever. Stick to the rules...

So chimps can 'literally' tear wolves limb from limb according to this thread.
Now we know that chimps are twice as strong as a human being. So using that scale I assume that means that you or I could 'literally' tear the average pit bull limb from limb since they are approximately half the size of a wolf. We could also kill it with a mighty blow from our devastating fists.

You're missing the point... Wolves (which are members of the Canidae family as you correctly stated) have only one offensive move, and that's biting
Chimps have multiple ways to inflict damage, not to mention they're smarter and strong as hell

Real chimps have basically two ways of inflicting damage. And they normally only use one of them. Striking. They CAN bite, but it's not normally something they do until their target is subdued because they aren't built for it any more than you are. They don't choke because they aren't that smart.
Wolves take shots from elk and moose and buffalo hooves and walk it off. I'm pretty sure a chimp is going to do about as much to a wolf as you punching a pit bull. It's basically just putting something too close to those teeth and causing it to bleed.
