TBH I preferred the Louisiana RenFest over Texas. Texas was a drive far out in the boondocks, and didn't have the cozy village feel. Too much walking for too little entertainment.

I enjoyed taking my daughter to LA every year for many years with many of her friends usually in costumes. Somewhere I have a photo of her tossing a flaming torch to a juggler on stage. One year at Halloween she went in this "Sexy Alice in Wonderland" costume and posed for photos with a guy who always portrays a credible Mad Hatter.

And I just love corsets. Have a great day!

It’s fun. I camped out there one weekend with some friends who get really into it and go every weekend. It was a blast and it gets pretty weird in the campgrounds after the sun goes down.

It does. And it's disgusting once you see the people who are getting freaky. It all goes down in the camping area.

Hello, 10 posts alter/newbie.

Daughter was a child model/actress/singer, walked in fashion shows, appeared on tv, etc. I'd estimate that by the time of the RenFest mentioned she had been photographed a few thousand times.

Edit: P.S. That costume was also a huge boost to our Halloween Trick-or-Treat candy haul that year.

Say hello to this guy. I'm pretty sure he still lives at home.

I've heard that as well. Last time we went, two of the guys with us were on acid and things started to take a dark turn for them when the sun started to set So we didn't stay into the nighttime.

Ren Fest is where I learned about the awesomeness of the didgeridoo!

I'm itching to go to this. I've never been to one. May go in a couple of weeks.

I hear late night camping is more fun than the actual festival. Campfires and drum circles and hallucinagens and whatnot

Yep, I've been a bunch of years. My buddy and I would be just fine never entering the ren fest and just staying in the campground all weekend. But the wives haven't allowed it yet. They insist we enter the fest.

The grounds are huge, so it takes a lot to feel crowded. We have always gotten there early, before it gets to hot, then are usually ready to roll around 3 pm or so.. the crowd doesn't seem to show until after noon so the mornings crowd isn't an issue
