Jeeps (wranglers and CJ's) for all of them.

Now one drives an Infinity SUV, one drives a Jeep Grand Cherokee and the other drives a Jeep Renagade.

I walked to the grocery store I worked at in high school that afforded me the funds to purchase my vehicle. Paid it off before college so I wouldn't have a car note.

Dad co-signed so I would get a better rate.

Don't overthink it.

Get a bike. Get an Uber. Get a buddy or girlfriend to bring you to work.

I bought my sons a Subaru Crosstrek when he was 16. He’s a junior in college now and it’s still a great car. Very good safety ratings and still fun and sporty little ride.

Grandparents just bought my daughter a 2006 tacoma, with just over 115k miles. WE had been telling her we would match what she saved and buy her something. She saved $2k so she was getting a $4k vehicle until the grandparents just paid for it all. The problem is the insurance. Girl with good grades is still $260/month.

Both got a hand-me-down 2010 Honda Accord (same car - went to daughter when son graduated HS - got him a "newer" ride - he got it when he got his license and I got a new car). She'll get a "better" car upon graduation - assuming she doesn't do something stupid or frick up her grades.
