Nope, just a Virginian since I was very young. I don’t get to see anything but DC or Richmond with are awful

Agreed, Birmingham has an image problem, but I enjoy it. Well, except for all of the Alabama fans that are there.

Weird. It seems like this same thread was recently done.

World Games will be there in July.
USFL going on now.
I grew up in the Ham. It’s really changed since the 60s and 70s.

Same here. It’s a different city over the last 10 years. Still has parts like Mogadishu, but every southern city has those areas.

Take a drive through Mountain Brook to see the good life. If I'm ever able to convince my wife and 3 kids to move out of NOLA, it's number 1 on my list.

I’ve lived in Bham for 20 years (minus 3 years in Fairhope) and the change in the last 10 years has been pretty remarkable.

AL has three of the best places to raise a family in the entire country:
-Madison/Huntsville
-Birmingham Suburbs
-Fairhope

Birmingham has made tremendous strides over the past 10 years.

The nice areas of St Louis are nicer than the nice areas of Birmingham
Memphis is indeed a shithole

If you can afford it, it should be an easy sell for the wife.

Fair, but name me an affluent area that isn’t that way?

I'm sure it wasn't your choice.

Moved here 3 years ago and love it. Great restaurants, tons of breweries, good golf, outdoor activities, easy drive to see family in MS or head to braves game whenever I want. Hell, I’ve enjoyed the barons games too. Also, need to check out the new football stadium downtown
